8 1/2"H x 8" D, 545 peces, Ebony, Holly, Veneer
My inspiration for this piece came from a piece of Phoenician pottery from about the 7th century, BC. Skyphos were drinking vessels, especially used for drinking wine. My piece is twice the normal size of such a vessel. This period of Greek/Phoenician pottery was dubbed “Geometric”, as the decoration on the pieces were largely geometric designs.
