This is a close-up of the handwheel vacuum adapter. Numerous people have similar designs and I can't remember where I got my ideas from. The best feature is that simply removing a hose allows me to use a knockout bar through the fitting. I find I get a decrease in vacuum due to leakage through the bearing even though it is double sealed. It really presents no problem as I still have enough to chuck anything I want.
